 자기소개:

My name is Natalie and I have been teaching for 6 years. I am certified in teaching ESL, which I enjoy. I am currently working on my Master of Science in Education Degree at the University of New England. I prefer to teach in a conversational approach. I will come up with discussion topics, worksheets, questions, and multimedia that will help us talk. As we are having a conversation I will correct your grammar and pronunciation, teach you new words, and address common English phrases, idioms, or slang.

I have a good sense of humor and don't mind tackling topics from school, to politics, to business, and current events. I would like to arrange my topics and style around what your interests are and your goals for learning English (which in most cases is perfect fluency).
 주요경력:

September 2008-June 2010. I taught high school Social Studies at Westwood Community High School in Fort McMurray, Alberta. I taught grade 9 and 10 Social Studies and grade 9 Film Studies.

February- June 2007 I worked at Avon View High School in Windsor, Nova Scotia.
I was a term (temporary) Law 12 and Film and Video Production 12 teacher.
During this time I taught a 100% course load. I taught one section of grade 12 Law and three sections of grade 12 Film and Video Production. I use a wide variety of technical tools to instruct the students from LCD projectors to digital video cameras and computers. The students in my classes get a hands-on interactive learning experience.

May 2006-Jan. 2007 I worked for the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board in the Annapolis Valley, N.S., as a substitute teacher. I have taught grades 6 to 12. I have been in several schools including Coldbrook and District, Central Kings, Horton, North East Kings Education Center, and Evangeline Middle School to name a few.

July 2006 I worked at Take 30 Fitness located in Wolfville, N.S., as a temporary fitness coach. At this job I was required to work independently with women to show them how they can improve their personal health. I used a computer and several pieces of other technical equipment. As well, I measured and tracked each member뭩 individual progress.

As a student teacher (2005-2006) my second year practicums were at Horton High School. I taught semestered grade 12 Law and 9 Social Studies as well as one year long section of 9 Social Studies. I was able to make use of the technology in this P3 school to make my lessons appealing. On free periods I helped out in the resource room where I learned a great deal about inclusive education and began to incorporate ideas from the teachers into my lessons and assessments.

From January 2006 to April 2006 at Acadia University located in Wolfville, N.S., I was a professional videographer. I worked on a documentary with Dr. Michael Corbett and Acadia University. The documentary focuses on volunteering and technology use in Newport Station District School. My role on this project is to edit using Final Cut Express, create sound tracks, and acquire additional B-reel footage or interviews.

As a student teacher (2004-2005) my first year practicums were with grade sevens at Evangeline Middle School. I taught a full load of English, Band Options, Science, Personal Development in Relationships, and an exploratory in Guitar as well as assisted in phys. ed, math, and an exploratory on web quests. As a teacher of an inclusive classroom I made an effort to meet the needs of the students with varying abilities.

From July 2001-August 2005 I worked for the Community Access Program/ HRDC located in Scott뭩 Bay, N.S., as a Capsite Intern. As a seasonal intern I managed an entire computer center. I taught computer related classes. I arranged fundraisers and community events, like two art open houses and a history display. I taught many children뭩 camps and supervised children뭩 fun nights, scheduled and created advertising initiatives. I repaired computers, cleaned the building, managed cash, setup the local area network, maintained the website, and catalogued assets. I created a website template about accessibility, and I contributed articles on genealogy, crafts, and cover artwork for a handbook to be used by capsites in the region. I became well acquainted with the range of Microsoft products.

April-July 2001 and April to July 2004 I worked for Statistics Canada in Wolfville, N.S., as a test census and census enumerator. I worked as an enumerator for the 2004 census test and 2001 census. My duties included delivering forms, recording addresses, names, and ensuring that all forms were returned and filled out correctly. This involved persistence on my part. I had to keep strict records of my activities and notes on unusual occurrences, checked previous records against newly collected records, and found missed dwellings.

From September 2004 to May 2006 I completed a Bachelor of Education at Acadia University. I graduated on May 15, 2006 and also received my TC5 Nova Scotia teacher뭩 certificate. My specialties are Social Studies and Language Arts, though I am quite comfortable in many other areas such as computers, art, and some sciences.

From January 2000 to May 2004 I studied for and graduated from Acadia in May of 2004 with bachelor of arts with a major in History and a minor in English. During my arts degree I took many fine arts classes as well as core French, and computer science among others.
